Looking at the authentic constructions made of wood, stone, clay, purchased from the villages of Banat, dismantled and built in the museum respecting local techniques, the objects used in daily life, you open a door to the life of people from past centuries. The houses generally have two or three living rooms. However, what constitutes a recognized behavioral characteristic of Romanians in general and Banatians in particular is the hospitality revealed by the presence in each house of the guest room, known as the “clean stove”, “big stove”, “good stove”, beautifully furnished and decorated with the most precious fabrics – carpets, towels and tablecloths (“măsaie”).

It displays on shelves, in closets and drawers most of everything that Romanians could buy before the revolution of 1989, from toys to vinyls, TV and radio sets to bicycles, kitchen attire and much, much more. Also known as the “New Generalate”, the building is part of the “Cetatea Timișoara” District Urban Site. It appears on the plans of Timișoara from 1727, being considered the oldest building that has preserved its original volume. Following the conquest of Timișoara by the Habsburgs in 1716, they demolished all the buildings, except for Huniade Castle, but it was rebuilt differently in 1856 after the destruction suffered during the siege of 1849.

Don't miss a walk through Victoria Square. Also known as Opera Square, this is one of the city's central squares, the place where Timisoara was proclaimed the first free city in Romania, on December 20, 1989. You will discover here numerous buildings, built in baroque and rococo style, lots of terraces and restaurants, but also another emblematic monument for this city – the She-Wolf with her cubs. This is a replica of the famous Capitoline Wolf, received as a gift from Rome in 1926. The statue recalls the legend of the founders of Rome, depicting Remus and Romulus, while being suckled by the famous she-wolf.

Where do we go on the weekend in Timisoara? In the Rose Park, of course. The story of one of the most beautiful places in the city begins in 1891, when 3 gardeners arranged the Royal Rose Garden. The beautiful park was seriously damaged during World War II, but was restored in 1953. In fact, time has left its mark on it, so in 2012 it entered, again, a rehabilitation process. Today, this is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Timisoara, especially in the warm season, when it is covered with roses of different species.

The Timisoara Brewery was opened in 1718, at the behest of Prince Eugene of Savoy, in order to supply the Austrian army when the Austrian Empire annexed Banat and Oltenia. Thus, the story of the beer with the same name was born.
In 1890, the factory was almost completely destroyed by a fire, and was rebuilt and modernized with the latest equipment of the time. Despite the challenges encountered throughout its long history, the factory has brilliantly withstood the test of time and has become a national brand.

The Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral impresses both by its size and by the artistic value of the monument, being currently one of the most representative places of worship in our country. Built according to the plans of the architect Ioan Traianescu, the cathedral harmoniously combines elements of Byzantine architecture with those of old Romanian architecture. It was consecrated on October 6, 1946.
In the basement, the Metropolitan Cathedral houses an impressive collection of old Banat church art and a valuable collection of icons. Also in the basement is the necropolis of the Banat metropolitans. The first metropolitan buried here was Vasile Lăzărescu. Inside, the cathedral was enriched with the relics of Metropolitan Iosif cel Nou, which were moved from the Partoş monastery in 1956.

The Children's Park is a pleasant place to meet nature and childhood even for the older ones, with a large enough area and a central enough position, suitable for both play and good cheer, as well as for contemplation and relaxation.
The development of the park began in 1858, it was prepared and inaugurated on the occasion of the Commercial and Industrial Exhibition of 1891, occupying a good part of it. It has had several names over time: the first name Ferenz Jozsef Park, after 1919 - Mihai Eminescu Park, after 1950 - Pioneers Park, and since 2006 it has been called the Ion Creangă Children's Park. Because the first project was conceived as a landscape park, the vegetation includes special specimens of oak trees over 100 years old and even a Gingko biloba tree.

Have you decided to go on vacation? You should know that there are many places to visit near Timisoara. Thus, after admiring the beauty of the city, you can make a short getaway to the surrounding towns. A good example in this case is Charlottenburg, the only circular village in our country. You can find it in the Bogda commune, just 45 kilometers away from Timisoara. Its story began during the time of Count Karl-Ignaz von Clary und Aldringen (former president of the Banat administration, in 1769) who requested that a village be built for 32 immigrant families from Italy and Germany. Because its shape is unique, the Ministry of Culture and Religious Affairs declared the village of Charlottenburg a historical monument.

It is a magnificent medieval fortress, located on the right bank of the Mureș River, near Lipova – Arad County. The shortest road route is on DJ 691, with 65 km of driving.
The documentary attestation of the Șoimoș Fortress dates back to 1278, and the fame of the place would have been the breeding of falcons. The numerous owners of the fortress, who kept changing over time, were, in particular, from the Hungarian or Transylvanian nobility. Construction would have begun after the Kingdom of Hungary was invaded by the Tatars, at the beginning of 1272. The ruins have survived to this day thanks to the solid structure made of granite stone.
The fortress courtyard is impressive, guarded by high defense towers. From inside the fortress you can admire the Mureș Gorge.

RED MOTOR Sports Club aims to offer you the emotions and experiences of a real race. Our circuit is comparable in number of turns and complexity to a speed circuit similar to the big ones. The tour is not a short one, the time on one circuit lap being a little over 50 seconds. Our karts are powerful enough to allow average speeds per lap of over 40 km/h. This is given that the circuit contains many slow turns, with speeds well below average. Also, the karts are maintained so that their performances are very close, the competitors leaving with equal chances. The real-time timing system allows for very precise scoring and measurement of the competitors' performances. And in the spirit of this idea, to offer you the racing experience, we periodically organize competitions for all those who want to and are passionate about motor sports.
